New Solidarity Contribution for Retirees in Santa Fe

The Government of Santa Fe will implement a progressive discount that will affect retirees with higher incomes in the province. The discount will vary from 2% to 6% and will be applied to those seniors who receive more than three minimum pensions, linking all discounts to the value of the pensions.

Regarding the solidarity contribution, those who are part of the Retirement and Pension Fund of the Province of Santa Fe will have to make the contribution based on the total benefit. The discounts will be distributed in five brackets, from 2% to 6%, depending on the number of minimum pensions received by each beneficiary.

The measure will last during the period of the pension emergency, estimated initially at two years, with the possibility of extension for one more year, aiming to sustain the pension fund of the province.

Approved by the Santa Fe legislature, the "solidarity contribution" establishes a percentage discount on the pensions of retirees who earn more than $1,160,715 monthly, in order to strengthen the pension system of the province. Following the approval of the pension reform in September, several retirees and pensioners will see their pensions reduced by up to 6% starting in November.

This discount will affect seniors and future contributors in the province of Santa Fe, as long as they earn an amount greater than $1,160,715 per month, relative to the monthly income received.
